Steve (Esteban) DavisNurturing the young artist's talents, Esteban's parents gave him every opportunity to grow in the way of creativity. Drawing and painting classes with parks and recreations, elementary school and home practice. Watercolor and acylic painting intensely through high school, creating finished pieces and murals. The artist attended college watercolor and drawing classes at age 16. He continued education with art classes from El Camino Jr. College, Ca. and Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter he discontinued school to paint full time. Esteban moved to Hawaii pursuing the beauty of nature, richness of native culture and the creative flow. He has lived and painted in Hawaii professionally for 15 years, spending a number between in Arizona, painting and raising two daughters. The artist attended printmaking classes at Northern Arizona University, and Arizona State University. Stone lithography and Monotype became the focus. Esteban bought a large hand lithography press and litho stones from Germany to open a print studio. Numerous juried shows and galleries throughout the western states contain his works. Painting returned to the forefront and Esteban felt the pull to be back in Hawaii, moving back to Kauai 10 years ago. Today, Esteban keeps a cabin studio by Waimea Canyon in the mountains of Kauai. "Living in the quiet and solitude of nature is being close to god and the creative forces", he believes.
